CBD and pets

We already know the beneficial and therapeutic effects that Cannabis has for different conditions, diseases, and pathologies in human beings from the different studies and news that often appear in different media … but, what about our furry friends? Does the use of CBD oil in pets also have positive effects? From here we are going to give you all the necessary information about the effect of using CBD oil on our pets and how its use is positive for memory, reducing pain, improving appetite, and even mobility.

The first thing to keep in mind is that the use of CBD in pets should be consulted in the first instance with a veterinary professional since they are the ones who best know the clinical history of our furry friends and that they should never be replaced the medicines prescribed by professionals for CBD oil since hemp oil in pets is used as an analgesic and painkiller which leads to improving the quality of life of pets that fight against chronic or degenerative diseases.

Another very important thing to keep in mind is that THC can have such negative effects, so when administering CBD oil to our pets we must make sure these products are 100% free of THC which are very difficult to find or with minimal THC levels.

CBD for dogs

Dogs are the animal species with the highest amount of CB1 receptors (cannabinoid receptors located in the body, specifically in the central nervous system, kidneys, lungs, and liver) so the use of CBD in dogs is very beneficial for inflammation treatments, anxiety, cancer treatments, epileptic attacks or seizures, skin allergies, stress, arthritis…

Our furry also have years and with it, they have different ailments. One of the cases in which CBD is used the most in dogs is in those diagnosed with osteoarthritis, (deterioration of the cartilage that causes lameness and fatigue when getting up).

CBD for pets: cats

Our feline friends are far pickier than canines when it comes to administering CBD. While dogs can consume it in different formats such as cookies, feed, etc., in cats CBD can be administered in oil, since felines do not tolerate the fibers that the plant may contain.

In our cats, health problems are usually symptoms of chronic diseases as a result of age and there have already been cases of cute kittens that with the use of CBD oil have improved cardiovascular problems, cancer, hyperthyroidism, seizures, appetite problems, chronic kidney disease, arthritis, and inflammation.
